The Story About Us

Town Of Ceramics

Shiwan, a small town in Asia with over 500 years of history, is a living fossil of ceramics. It boasts the world's oldest wood-fired dragon kiln still in use. Built into the hillside, the kiln's shape resembles a giant dragon descending from the sky, hence the name "Dragon Kiln." Because the dragon kiln's firewood burning area is as important as the wood stove in traditional dwellings, Shiwan residents also call it a "stove."

Start Here

A boy from this ancient town seemed to have never seen the kilns stop burning since he was born. Then, by chance, he came across an elderly man emerging from a ceramic workshop. "Master!" he called out, and thus began his journey of learning ceramics. This man in his seventies began to share the techniques he had learned throughout his life.

A Random Idea

The boy, who had never left his small town, discovered the ancient custom of burning plants for aroma during a trip to America.
He fell in love with the pure aromas of natural plants. He felt this way of drawing from and experiencing nature resonated closely with his own approach to ceramics. So he began to design and produce ceramic burners for plant incense. After months of fine-tuning the clay formula and firing process, the first burner was finally completed, and it was born at exactly 10 pm.
